City outlines paving targets

With a nearly $5 million roads budget, the city has laid out 16 road resurfacing projects for this year's paving season.

Street operations supervisor Mick Jones said work on the more than 35 lane kilometres of Prince George roads is expected to start around mid-May, depending on the weather.

The 2013 projects are:

* Winnipeg Street, between Carney Street and 13th Avenue

* 20th Avenue, between Massey Drive and Highway 16

* Northwood Pulp Road, between Clubhouse Drive and Aberdeen Road

* Chief Lake Road, between Foothills Boulevard and Highway 97

* Foothills Boulevard, north of First Avenue to the Foothills Bridge

* Foothills Boulevard, an 890-metre stretch south of where 2009 paving efforts ended

* 22nd Avenue, between Central Street and Ospika Boulevard

* University Way, between Shane Creek Bridge and Foothills Boulevard

* Old Summit Lake Road, 1,400 metres north of where paving work in 2011 ended

* Rainbow Drive, between Ospika Boulevard and Ahbau Street

* West Austin Road, between South Kelly Road and Highway 97

* Cranbrook Hill Road, between 15th Avenue and where paving work ended in 2011

* Johnson Street, between 10th and 15th Avenues

* Lyon Street, between 15th and 18th Avenues

* Nicholson Street, between 22nd Avenue and Opie Crescent

* West Austin Road, between Foothills Boulevard and Kelly Road
