Blood donors needed

If you're thinking of donating blood, there's no better time than the present.

Supplies are running low in the Canadian Blood Services B.C. and Yukon division blood bank and Prince George-area donors are being urged to give their gifts of life at the city's permanent clinic at 2277 Westwood Dr.

As of April 1, the Prince George clinic will be extending its hours of operation.

Currently open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., the doors will open an additional hour starting next month, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. On Saturdays starting in April, the clinic will open at 8 a.m. and stay open until 4 p.m., one additional hour beyond the current 3 p.m.

For more information or to book an appointment to donate call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283). Appointments are recommended to help reduce clinic line-ups and wait times. Go to the Canadian Blood Services website for additional information at blood.ca.
