What's next in Syria

It is with the deepest suspicion that I greet the news that Great Britain is offering the dissidents (read terrorists) in Syria, armored vehicles and body armour. As they are very upset with NATO then the next step will be...?

These so called dissidents have, on numerous occasions stated that when they depose President Assad that they intend to govern by the strictest form of sharia law.

To back up their statements they have already begun slaughtering Christians (in a country where Christians and Muslems have lived peacefully, cheek by jowl, for more than a thousand years) and those who stand against their current non-secular leadership styles. Another example occurred several weeks ago when they beheaded a man in a town centre because his brother had made what they thought might be a slight against Islam.

In the past ten years we have spent billions of dollars and thousands of Allied lives, taking a stand against the Taliban and al-Qaeda. We are hopefully going to get out of Afghanistan within the next two years. When we get out of Iraq is anybody's guess, but the Americans are already using Special Forces to make long range insertions into Iran and with a $250 billion budget for building military camps in Afghanistan, their drivel about leaving is less accurate than their usual political deceit.

Every political leader who joined with the Bushes in their oil field ownership wars have made millions. The working man has carried the 1 per cent on his shoulders physically and financially for one of the longest wars in modern history. Are we, yet again, going to yield to yet another bout of spurious intelligence ramblings so that the U.S. war machine can be justified?

Its time the political leaders of the West were held to the same level under international law as those they decide through media pap are guilty until proven innocent.
