A 48-year-old man is facing a charge of aggravated assault for what police have called a "brutal" attack on an elderly woman at a rural property east of Prince George last Wednesday.
Paul Neumann has been released on $1,000 bail and is next scheduled to appear in provincial court on April 24 to provide time to consult with counsel.
The 73-year-old woman is recovering in hospital from serious but non-life threatening injuries, that police believe were the result of blunt force trauma.
The victim and the alleged attacker are known to each other, police have also said.
