Female Cougars eliminated by Ravens

The hockey season is over for the Prince George Female Cougars after they lost their best-of-three quarterfinal series in the B.C. Female Major Midget AAA League with the Pacific Ravens in Richmond on the weekend.

The Cougars (6-17-5) opened the playoffs Friday with a 2-1 win over the Ravens (9-15-4) but lost the final two games 3-2 and 3-1 and were eliminated. The Ravens will face the defending champion Fraser Valley Phantoms (21-5-2) in the best-of-three semifinal next weekend.

In the other semifinal, the Kootenay Wildcats (9-14-5) will travel to Kelowna to play the Thompson-Okanagan Rockets (14-8-6).

The Phantoms will play host to the Esso Cup this spring to determine the top female midget team in Canada.
