City manager hunt winding down

The search for a new chief administrative officer could be coming to a close shortly.

"City council continues to work with our recruiting firm to find the next city manger for Prince George," said Mayor Shari Green. "That process is on track and we look forward to making an announcement in the near future."

The city manager's office has been empty since Derek Bates stepped down last fall. Bates had served as city manager since 2006. Corporate services director Kathleen Soltis has filled the role on an interim basis since Oct. 17.

At the time, Green said it could take anywhere from four to six months to find a permanent replacement.
