Fire crews snuff fast-food fire

It might be a while for the fries at one local Wendy's restaurant after Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at the Central Street West location early Sunday morning.

Sixteen firefighters from three halls responded around 1:15 a.m. to find light smoke and a grease fire in a deep fat fryer in the building.

All employees were safely evacuated with no injuries before fire crews arrived to put out the blaze, which has been deemed accidental.

Water, smoke and fire damage to the kitchen equipment as well as the building's interior is estimated to be worth $40,000.
