Welder's eye

Finally someone has to open up on the Enbridge's latest unbelievable ad. First of all I am a Level A welder registered with the Dept. of Labour with the B.C. Gov't.

I hold an endorsed pressure ticket No. 7 Pulse A Tig (NO.10).

I have welded for more than 30 years. The ad shows a welder welding a joint (pipe). He strikes the pipe twice and continues to weld. If he is welding a root pass, that is an absolute no-no. If he is putting in a pass, the same thing.

If that is their procedure, God help the landscape because the pipe, when it starts up will look like a soaker hose you put out on your lawn.

I hope I shone some light on Enbridge to the landowner, we the people.
