Police take down part of wanted trio

RCMP tracked down on Monday one of three males sought in a two-province hunt.

Police spokesperson Lesley Smith said Terrace Mounties have arrested Eric Cardinal, who was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants including breach of a court order and charges relating to a number of violent assaults.

Cardinal had been linked to two Prince George men, Sameer Madhok, 40, and Mark Anthony Stewart, 30.

The Citizen has previously reported that Madhok and Stewart are both wanted on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.

Madhok is described as South Asian with short black hair, black eyes, five-foot-eleven and 200 pounds.

Stewart is described as Metis with brown hair, brown eyes, six foot and 180 pounds.

A white Hyundai XG350 sedan linked to the trio was also found last week in Calgary, according to Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the remaining two is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword "pgtips."
