Greyhound crashes near McBride

Three people suffered minor injuries after a Greyhound bus rolled over near Dome Creek, approximately 145 kilometres east of Prince George.

The bus was travelling eastbound on Highway 16 when the driver lost control at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, according to a statement released by McBride RCMP. The bus skidded off the highway, rolled on its side and slide down an embankment.

The bus was carrying 18 passengers, two which were taken to McBride Hospital for treatment.

A Yellowhead Road and Bridge highway crew transported the remaining passengers to YRB's Slim Creek Highway yard until a second Greyhound bus was able to pick them up.

McBride RCMP and the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement team were still investigating the crash as of press time.

However, RCMP reported the heavy snowfall may have contributed to the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call McBride RCMP at 250-569-2255.
