Tuesday attacks lead to arrest

A woman connected to a string of violent attacks Tuesday night is in police custody.

On Feb. 26, Prince George RCMP responded to a report of screams heard from a parking lot in the area of Queensway and Patricia Boulevard shortly before 7 p.m. A 63-year-old female was cleaning the snow off her vehicle when an adult female assaulted her and attempted to take the vehicle.

The victim managed to fend off her attacker and the suspect fled on foot.

At 8:16 p.m., general duty officers were called to residence on Queensway where a man was stabbed after he let an adult female into his home. The female fled the area before police were called.

The suspect had a similar description to the suspect of the earlier assault and attempted theft of a vehicle. The 71-year-old male victim was transported to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. with non-life-threatening injuries.

Within minutes of the second call, a report of an attempted home invasion in the same area came in at 8:27 p.m. Police arrived at a residence on Patricia Boulevard and found an uninjured 78-year-old female victim. A female suspect matching the description of the suspect form the previous two reports had entered the residence via an unlocked back door. The suspect had told the victim that she wanted to use the phone but ended up attempting to steal the victim's purse. She fled before police were called.

RCMP officers located and arrested a 24-year-old female Prince George resident - originally from Takla Landing - around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in connection with these attacks.

Carmelita Louise Abraham is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
