Olympics should restore wrestling back to the basics of sports

I have to show my deep sorrow at the Olympic Committee voting to remove Wrestling as an Olympic sport. What a travesty!

The very first Olympic sport being removed due to "low ticket sales".

Wrestling is one of the most demanding sports in the world, it places one woman/man against the other in pure athleticism, to see who can ultimately control the other person, and be rewarded points accordingly. I personally have trained with many Olympians and medalists, and you will never find a harder working group of athletes. Why do you think International Judo (which I highly respect) removed leg attacks? Wrestlers were going to competitions and winning.

Why do MMA athletes all seek to have training in wrestling to get to the top?

Because the basics learned in wrestling gets you the basics you need in all other sports. Olympics should get back to the basics, back to all the original sports that show pure athleticism.
