A Valentine's Day drug bust has two men facing numerous charges including deportation.

Two men, 34- and 59-years-old, are in custody at a detention centre after a joint search warrant at a residence in the 4700 block of Highway 97 North in Quesnel was executed by the North District Integrated Marijuana Task Force and the Quesnel RCMP. Inside the residence officers found more than 1,650 marijuana plants, about five pounds of dried marijuana and grow operating equipment and documentation of residential occupancy. Also seized were two industrial sized diesel generators and a pickup truck.

According to RCMP the drugs seized had an estimated street value of about $1.7 million.

The men are facing charges for the production of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The 34-year-old is also facing deportation to Hungry as it was found he is in Canada illegally and is scheduled to attend an immigration hearing in Vancouver this week. The 59-year-old male is from the Lower Mainland.

Both men are scheduled to make their first court appearance in Quesnel on the drug charges May 14.
