Runners young, not restless

A quintet from Vanderhoof's Nechako Valley secondary school turned up the heat in the mixed team relay during the 26th annual Prince George Iceman on Sunday, completing the ski, run, skate, run and swim event in 1:39.20, taking the prize for top team. Brian Nemethy, coach of the NVSS Vikings runners, led the charge for The Young and Younger team finishing the 10 km run in 37 minutes, 35 seconds (0:37.30). The Younger members, also his students, did the ski (Alex Nemethy, 0:22.08), skate (Alison Desmarais, 0:08.16) and five km run (Charlie Borek, 0:15.40). Dave Nielsen of Prince George accounted for the swim portion of the race, touching the wall in 0:15.40.
