Hospital staff provided excellent care for dying dad, family

Our dad, Ivor Johnson recently passed away in Prince George at UHNBC. I want to acknowledge what amazing care and compassion he was shown by the nurses and doctors who looked after him while he was there and until his passing.

Right from the emergency room to IMU to surgery and recovery to the cancer doctor visit we always felt that he was in the best care possible. He was treated with dignity and respect which we all hope for but are not always sure we can expect. Our family was welcomed to be with him and care for him alongside the nurses. Until you are in that position of watching your loved one grow weaker and in increasing pain it is hard to appreciate the amazing people we have in our hospital.

Our dad was in the Prince George Hospital, ICU and then IMU in 2011. At that time the doctors

and nurses of our amazing hospital kept him alive for us so that he could prepare his family for his final goodbye. We are so thankful to you for once again caring for our beautiful dad and will be forever grateful and a true advocate for the wonderful, talented people that work with our loved ones every day.

We here in Prince George and the North should not take for granted how truly lucky we are.
