Fire on Monkley Avenue

There was a structure fire in the 1400 Block on Monkley Avenue Sunday night.

The report came in at about 10:30 p.m.

Five adults were taken to University hospital as a precaution and there were no serious injuries.

Prince George Fire Rescue crews from three halls, including 16 firefighters, arrived to find the fire in the basement of a side by side duplex.

The fire was coming out of the basement window. Fire crews extinguished the fire and continued to check for hot spots.

Fire damage to the building and contents is approximately $75,000. The cause of the fire has not been determined and investigators will be on scene Monday morning.
