Father pleads guilty to assaulting children

A Prince George man pleaded guilty Wednesday to six counts of assaulting his children over a five-year period.

The move came after 10 days of testimony before a B.C. Supreme Court Justice at the Prince George courthouse this month.

The remaining six counts each of unlawful confinement and assault with a weapon are to be dropped.

As well, all 18 charges against his wife - also six counts each of unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon and assault - will also be dismissed.

The charges are related to incidents between September 2006 and October 2011.

Sentencing will occur once a pre-sentence report, to include victim impact statements from the six children now in foster care, has been completed.
