Trojans finish on top

With three straight wins the D.P. Todd Trojans senior girls basketball team emerged the victors last weekend in Quesnel at a tournament hosted by Correlieu Secondary high school.

In the Saturday night final the Trojans defeated the Correlieu Clan 53-38 as Fiona Raymond led the way with 17 points and Jess Jensen notched 13. Jensen earned player of the game honours while Tenley Pearce was selected to the all-star team.

D.P. Todd also beat Williams Lake 74-66, rebounding from a 24-9 first quarter deficit and slipped past the Nechako Valley Vikings 79-72.

The Trojans return to the court Wednesday when they travel to Duchess Park for a City league game at 8 p.m.
