Prince George Fire Rescue crews were kept busy this weekend with two separate fires causing an estimated $120,000 in damage.
Shortly after 12:30 Saturday afternoon, 17 firefighters from three halls responded to a blaze in the 7600 block of Giscome Road. The home - which was unoccupied at the time - sustained extensive damage to its interior with an estimated loss of $90,000. Crews put out the fire quickly, but no cause has yet been determined.
Crews were out again early Sunday morning to a home in the 100 block of North Nicholson Street. Eleven firefighters from two halls responded shortly before 3 a.m. to the basement fire. One person was home at the time and safely exited the building without injury.
The blaze, which caused an estimated $30,000 worth of damage, is not considered to be suspicious.
