Unhappy with seniors coverage

We are seniors and regular subscribers to the Citizen newspaper. We have lived at the

same address since 1955

My letter is to say how very unhappy we are with the seniors page of your paper.

Most of the content is stupid; no one cares whose birthday it may be. In Tuesday's paper (Jan. 8)

was an article about a skit to be held at the 10th Ave. seniors complex, which is OK but why all the

detail. They are getting free exposure and advertising. I remember a short time ago an

article advertising for a "lovelorn" partner.

In case you don't know there are several other seniors organizations in our city, and how

many more seniors that don't belong to any organization. According to your paper, 10th

Ave. Elder Senior Citizens organization is the only one in Prince George. We would like the

other senior organizations to have exposure as well, to be fair to all.

There is a wealth of information out there to be had if only you had an energetic reporter to

get it. All that is needed is for someone to stop and talk to senior people be it on the street

or in their homes. We along with many others would like to read of experiences that

people had and what our fair city was like when they arrived and how it grew with our

seniors. Not like the "Caribou Joe series" of fiction. There are real life stories and lots of

them.

And by the way there are many many people who feel as we do.
