Crime Stoppers hands out awards

Two awards were presented by Prince George Crime Stoppers on Friday.

Cst. Danny Grieve, a member of the Prince George RCMP's downtown enforcement unit, was named officer of the year for his continuous support of the program and making use of the tips it receives.

And Prince George RCMP's D watch, led by Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur, was named Prince George Crime Stoppers watch of the year for its support of the program.

Meanwhile, there are two chances to win a Samsung Tab 2 computer tablets as part of Crime Stoppers month.

Representatives will be holding a draw at this Saturday night's UNBC Timberwolves basketball games against University of Manitoba. Women tip off at 6 p.m. and men at 8 p.m.

The second opportunity occurs next Saturday at the Prince George Coliseum when the Spruce Kings face the Coquitlam Express in B.C. Junior Hockey League play, 7 p.m. start.
