Back on track

I for one support the various First Nations protests going on in the country, Idle No More particularly. Congratulations for getting together in a way that most Canadians have seem to forgotten - together.

Chief Atleo has a great point that all legislation going back to the Indian Act of 1867 needs to be reviewed with an eye to protecting their rights. I'd go even further, I'd do it from the point of view of protecting the rights of all Canadians. Just as much as Bills C38 and C45 affect First Nations they affect all Canadians and we should all be together on this and many other of society's problems. From the point of view of poverty, housing, children's issues, health, education, opportunity, etc., they are all 100 per cent Canadian problems not just First Nations.

Our governments are being run in an undemocratic unethical and immoral manner with secrecy and lies that detrimentally affects all of our lives. Yes historically more to some than others, but to both, and intentionally.

I think we all have forgotten the beliefs and values our country was founded on and are evolving from a business point of view and not a human one. Certainly one that does not respect God, all people, and the earth and environment we all must exist together in. And together we need to say no to this type of governing and democracy to get Canada back on track to being a global leader in human rights.
