Immuto, Jennifer Wanner's art exhibit, will be at the Two Rivers Gallery from Jan. 17 until the end of March.
In the meantime Wanner is offering a workshop to family's wishing to explore art in an unusual way Saturday, Jan. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the gallery.
“it is always a treat for us to have a visiting artist in town and we are delighted that Jennifer wanted to facilitate a workshop with families,” said Carolyn Holmes, public programs manager at the gallery. "Children and adults will work together to create a new plant life based on the surrealist game the Exquisite Corpse. I can only imagine the awesome and potentially threatening life forms families will create.”
Wanner grew up in Calgary and studied drama and visual arts. She recently completed a masters in fine arts at the University of Western Ontario.
Wanner creates new botanical life forms in collages, water colour paintings, drawings and stop motion animation. Her artwork serves as a critique of the drive for humans to dominate nature.
The afternoon's entertainment is $7 per person or $20 per family and suitable for all ages, said Holmes.
