The Prince George Cougars did not deal disgruntled forward Alex Forsberg at the Western Hockey League trade deadline.
The deadline arrived at 2 p.m., and Forsberg -- who didn't return to the team after the Christmas break -- wasn't included in a transaction. It appears he will be given permission to finish the season in the Tier 2 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, likely with the Humboldt Broncos.
Forsberg was the first-overall selection in the 2010 WHL bantam draft.
