What's happening

Northern Lights Festival goes until January 1 at 5 p.m. each evening. Enjoy a magical scenic drive through Connaught Hill Park and enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights. $10 per vehicle. Cash admission only at the gate.

Judy Russell presents Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol beginning tonight and goes Saturday and Sunday as well as Dec. 18 to 22 at the Prince George Playhouse. There are evening shows and Saturday matinees. Tickets are on sale at Studio 2880.

The Last Minute Christmas Craft Sale goes Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the CN Centre Atrium, 100 - 2187 Ospika Blvd. Crafters and artisans of this fair support PG Figure Skaters and Hockey Players. DJ music will help pump up the holiday spirit. There are crochet Barbie doll clothes, Simply Stones Jewelry, unique Soaps, leather goods, one of a kind sports art, Doggy & Me Fashions, Native art, Cariboo Culinary, local authors.

Adrienne Fitzpatrick book signing at Caf Voltaire at Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue, Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Local author Adrienne Fitzpatrick will sign copies of her new book The Earth Remembers Everything. This book is part travelogue and part fiction, looking under the human psyche through a journey like no other.

Prince George Symphony Orchestra presents The Messiah Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, a perfect setting for a masterpiece of music and an atmosphere of spiritual and musical reflection. Handel’s masterpiece in the Cathedral’s setting is essential for a complete Christmas musical experience. Certainly no other masterwork is as familiar, and you will burst into song during the Hallelujah chorus. Tickets are at Studio 2880.

A Little Bit of Christmas - Un Petit Peu de Noel - is Sunday at 4 p.m. at Art Space, above Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue. Lyn Vernon presents mix of songs of the season, and other favourites, to tease you into this festive time of year. Event admission is by donation.
