PWB staying open past Friday

Contrary to reports of imminent closure, PWB products will continue to roll out of the brewery for the foreseeable future.

Pacific Western Brewing Company is not closing its Prince George factory in the foreseeable future.

Media reports had indicated an intent by owner Kazuko Komatsu to turn off the taps as of Friday due to a taxation dispute with the provincial government.

The Citizen obtained confirmation from the company that indeed there is an ongoing and, to them, critical concern about the way B.C.'s tax laws are being applied to their business. However, an immanent closure of their operations was not part of the plan.

For a full synopsis of the brewery issue, read the Citizen online and in the paper.
