Wine festival rolls out afternoon edition

Theatre North West’s International Wine Festival, afternoon edition, will be held at The Exploration Place Saturday, November 10 from 2 to 4 p.m.

It's one of the most popular social events of the year, said organizers.

The evening event is always a sell out, so this is a way to offer people a chance to enjoy the wine-tasting tradition.

The afternoon event features all the same wines as the evening event, more than 100 to choose from, and also features the fourth annual Golden Cork Restaurant Challenge were renowned local chefs are pitted against each other in a culinary and wine-pairing event.

Local restaurants including Twisted Cork, White Goose Bistro, Cimo Mediterranean Grill, Hummus Brothers and The Keg, will be vying for the Golden Cork award this year.

There's a little more elbow room at the museum venue and offers a more quiet environment than the evening event.

Music will be provided by Peter Stevenson and some amazing B.C. and international wines.

Tickets are $30 and are available at the theatre by calling 563-6969 or at Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue.

The Wine Festival is Theatre North West’s largest fundraising event of the year. Safe rides home are provided.
