Air quality advisory issued for Vanderhoof

The B.C. environment ministry issued air quality advisory for Vanderhoof this morning due to a high level of fine particulate.

As of 10 a.m., the 24-hour rolling average was 39 micrograms per cubic metre, significantly above the level of 25 that's considered safe.

People with chronic underlying medical conditions are urged to postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted. Exposure is a particular concern for infants, the elderly and those who have heart or lung disease, the ministry said.

An update will be provided later this afternoon.
