Taxpayers have the right to whine

RE: Ross Pearce’s “Stop the whiny workers” October 17, 2012:

Mr. Pearce paints a very bleak picture of the private sector environment. It appears that his carrier has been totally within the public sector or if he did work in the private sector then I would suggest that his memory is somewhat flawed. I have worked in both the public and private sectors and found both to be quite rewarding.

It is quite obvious that Mr. Pearce is very passionate about public sector unions. However, to dismiss any taxpayer who expresses a concern about public union demands as a whiner is disrespectful and serves no “useful” purpose.

In the end it is our taxes, in one form or another, that pays the wages of public sector employees. There needs to be a balance between public sector union demands and the demands on the taxpayer. Hopefully, both will be treated fairly.
