Team B.C. takes Morrison

Brad Morrison, a forward for the Cariboo Cougars and a top prospect of the Prince George Cougars, has made B.C. Hockey's Under-16 provincial team.

B.C. Hockey released the 20-man roster on Wednesday and Morrison was the only P.G. player on it. He will be part of a club that will compete at the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup, Nov. 1-4 in Calgary.

With the Cariboo Cats so far this Major Midget League season, Morrison has five goals and 12 points in eight games. He was a first-round selection (seventh overall) of the Prince George Cougars in the 2012 Western Hockey League bantam draft.

Jansen Harkins, another high draft pick of the Prince George Cougars, also landed a Team B.C. roster spot. Harkins, a first-round, second-overall choice of the Cats in the 2012 draft, currently plays for the Vancouver Northwest Giants of the MML. In six games, he has nine points -- all of them assists.

Prince George's Trevor Sprague will be a Team B.C. assistant coach. He's also bench boss of the Cariboo Cougars.
