Pesticide drop off today

Farmers with outdated pesticides can get rid of them in Prince George today.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., CleanFARMS Inc. hosts a free drop off for obsolete agricultural pesticides at the Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill.

CleanFARMS Inc. is a non-profit stewardship organization focused on environmental responsibility through the proper management of agricultural waste.

Anyone with old or unwanted agricultural pesticides can bring them to the Foothills dump in a secure container with the label attached. Adjuvents, treated seed, paint solvents and domestic pesticides will not be accepted.

After collection, the pesticides are taken to a licensed waste management facility and disposed of through high-temperature incineration.

For more information about the program, visit www.cleanfarms.ca.
