The Prince George Cougars lost 7-2 to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night as the Devon Fordyce continued to struggle in the Cats' net.

The 18-year-old gave up four goals playing the first and third periods on 20 shots at the Medicine Hat Arena while his 17-year-old partner Brett Zarowny allowed three goals on 12 shots in the middle frame.

Jordan Tkatch staked the Cougars to a 1-0 advantage but the Tigers scored six straight goals before Daulton Siwak replied late in the third period for the Cougars to make it 6-2.

It's the third straight game Fordyce has given up a goal in the final minute of a period. Two weeks ago against Seattle he allowed a goal with nine seconds to play in the third period and the Cougars lost 2-1 in overtime. Against the Kelowna Rockets and the Tigers he allowed goals in the final minute of the first period, getting pulled both nights.

With the Portland Winterhawks getting 20-year-old goalie Mac Carruth back in the last week they now have two overage goaltenders and about a week to make a decision. It would be safe to assume former Kamloops Blazer Cam Lanigan's stint in Portland is about to come to an end, making him a possible option to solve the Cougars goaltending woes.

The Cougars next action is Tuesday when the Calgary Hitmen visit CN Centre, 7 p.m.
