Kings lose in Langley

The Prince George Spruce Kings dropped the first of two games with the Langley Rivermen 3-2 at the Langley Events Centre on Saturday night.

Coltyn Hansen gave the Kings a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal late in the first period that held up until Austin Azurdia scored a shorthanded marker - his first of two goals - 39 seconds into the third period to tie the game at 1-1.

Tyson Witala restored the Kings lead on a power play but Azurdia and Derek Sutliffe scored less than two minutes apart late in the game for the Rivermen. Witala had two points in the game.

Kirk Thompson made 19 saves for Prince George as the Rivermen out shot the Kings 22-19.

The two BCHL Lower Mainland division rivals square off again Sunday, 2 p.m. in Langley for their third meeting of the season.
