Ric's rolls dice at Treasure Cove

Brent Braaten, Photographer

Sunny Gupta and Sal Gupta from Ric's Grill are in the kitchen of their new location at the Treasure Cove Hotel and Casino.

Ric's Lounge and Grill opens today at the Treasure Cove Hotel and Casino, taking over where Crave once was.

The downtown Prince George location of Ric's Grill was the first of its kind and opened in 1998.

With restaurants throughout B.C. and Alberta, Ric's Lounge and Grill at Treasure Cove will be the 24th link in Ric's food chain.

"At Ric's Lounge and Grill we'll still have the same great quality of food and service but the atmosphere will be less formal, embracing the lounge style of relaxation and fun," said Kerriann Harlow, manager/trainer of Ric's for the last seven years. "The owners of the Treasure Cove called Ric's in because they knew of the expertise of owners Sal and Sunny Gupta, who they knew would take on the challenge of filling the niche for a lounge in Prince George. There's not really another lounge in Prince George."

Foodies will be thrilled to hear that Ric's has already installed a state-of-the-art $150,000 infrared grill at Ric's Lounge and Grill, which offers locked-in flavour that doesn't compare to any other method of preparing food, said Harlow.

"Along with menu items like steaks and rib eyes, people can enjoy pizzas, nachos, burgers, sandwiches as well as a full wine and cocktail menu," said Harlow. "We are looking forward to serving Prince George in a fun, inviting, friendly atmosphere at Ric's Lounge and Grill."
