Lone goal not enough for UNBC

Goals have been extremely hard to come by for the UNBC Northern Timberwolves women's soccer team.

They went 0-12 last season in the PACWEST B.C. college league and scored only one goal in those 12 games.

Sidney Roy finally got another one for T-wolves when she opening the scoring in their CIS Canada West Conference tilt Saturday afternoon at North Cariboo Field against the Saskatchewan Huskies, but it wasn't enough in a 3-1 loss that dropped UNBC's record to 0-4-1.

Saskatchewan's Daniella Suenzalida, a former member of the Chilean national team, beat UNBC goalie Jordan Hall for the winning goal on a penalty kick late in the second half.

The win improved the Huskies' record to 3-1-0.

UNBC will host the No. 8 nationally-ranked University Regina Cougars (3-0-0) Sunday at noon at North Cariboo Field, followed by the UNBC men hosting Trinity Western University at 2 p.m., the second of a weekend men's doubleheader.
