Blues Boss coming to the Big Blue Ball

Kenny 'Blues Boss' Wayne has another reason to give out a dose of the November blues.

It will help raise money for a needy cause.

The Spokane-born, New Orleans-raised blues, Juno award-winning piano player will make the trek north from his home in Vancouver to play for the crowd at the Prince George Rotary's Big Blue Ball prostate cancer fundraiser, Nov. 10 at the Coast Inn of the North.

All money raised for the event will stay in the community to help pay for men's health clinics and free PSA (prostate-specific antigen) tests that detect prostate cancer. The money will also support the city's first prostate cancer survivor support group, the Ride for Dad prostate research fundraiser and a variety of other community projects sponsored by the Rotary club.

Dr. Art Hister, a Vancouver-based management consultant on healthy living, will be on hand to make a lighthearted speech on the topic of men's heath.

Tickets for the evening event are $75 each, available at the Coast Inn of the North or online at thebigblueball.ca.
