Police bust yields drugs, guns

Three people were arrested last week after Prince George RCMP cracked a drug distribution ring.

On Aug. 29, an investigation involving members of the detachment's Municipal Drug Section and Downtown Enforcement Unit led to the arrest of two men in their 20s leaving what is believed to be a safe house.

Further investigation led to the arrest of another 20-year-old woman and the execution of a search warrant in the 2700 block of Vance Road.

There, police seized cocaine, heroin, marijuana, approximately $10,000 in cash and a variety of drug paraphernalia.

A second Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was carried out in the 9000 block of Isle Pierre Road in the early hours of Aug. 30 Marijuana, drug trafficking paraphernalia, two loaded assault rifles, a loaded pistol grip defender-style shot gun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were confiscated from the residence west of the city.

One of the males and the female are facing numerous drug and firearms charges relating to this investigation. The second male was released without charge.

Anyone with information about illegal drug or firearms activities in the Prince George area is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES using keyword "pgtips."
