Still waiting on LiveSmart BC payout

I see the federal and provincial governments are again offering rebates under the ecoEnergy LiveSmart B.C. programs.

In August 2011 I had a new furnace installed meeting the approved. I did receive the Federal Grant of $790. I was assured the Provincial Incentive of $ 600 would follow

within 90 days. In January I phoned the LiveSmart B.C. office in Victoria to determine when I may receive my cheque for $600. I was told they were having computer problems and the cheque would be out by mid-February 2012. I phoned a month later and was told they were still having computer problems and the cheque would be out by the end of April.

My next call to them I was told that because of unforeseen issues the cheque would not be out until mid-May. My next call to them I got a recording stating that I can't speak to a living person any longer and hopefully the cheque would be out by the end of July 2012. It is now mid-August and I am still waiting for the provincial rebate.

My letter to Shirley Bond, MLA dated June 11 received no response until I visited her office again six weeks later and was informed by her staff that I should receive a call shortly from LiveSmart B.C. advising where I stood in the queue. Well I'm still awaiting that call also.

Good luck to those applying for the 2012 Provincial Grant.
