PG teen killed in crash

A 17-year-old Prince George youth was pronounced dead at the scene of a fiery crash on the Nazko Highway near Quesnel early Thursday morning.

And a 19-year-old Quesnel resident was arrested and faces charge of impaired driving causing death.

Quesnel RCMP Cst. Krista Vrolyk said police were called to the scene near Long Road at about 2:30 a.m. where they found the vehicle in the ditch and fully engulfed in flames.

The driver, whose name was not released, was transported to Quesnel's G.R. Baker Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, then transported to Quesnel RCMP cells.

He was later released on a promise to appear in Quesnel provincial court on Oct. 16.

The name of the Prince George resident was not released at his family's request.
