A small sentence for a big crime

An appeal is in order regarding the ridiculous sentence given to the mystery man who violently shook his daughter, reported in the July 24 Citizen. After his assault, The Citizen reported that “now three years old, the girl is effectively a quadriplegic with no co-ordination of her limbs, her brain remains undeveloped, she's mostly blind, suffers seizures, is unable to talk, is fed through a stomach tube because she can't swallow and is likely to live no more than 15 years.” For this, her assailant got two years in jail and two years parole? He probably won’t serve a year in jail. She got a life sentence and likely the death penalty in her teens. This sentence must be appealed and if the decision hasn’t been made to do so, I urge readers to contact Attorney General Shirley Bond to demand the crown appeal this travesty of a judgment.
