The Russian plane is the world's third largest model of cargo aircraft. It touched down in Prince George as scheduled Friday the 13th at 11 a.m. to pick up seven helicopters to fly to Angola. The choppers will be used to transport officials to outlying area's during the country's national election at the end of August.
The plane's arrival drew a large number of aviation enthusiasts and RCMP was out controlling traffic on the Old Cariboo Highway and local roads.
