A small plane with two people on board landed safely Monday at the Prince George Airport after the pilot notified the airport tower that the plane's landing gear indicator was showing the wheels were out of position.

Emergency vehicles took up positions along the tarmac Monday morning as the Beechcraft Bonanza landed without incident.

"The plane will be checked out here to locate any malfunctions that might have caused the indicator to give then an 'unsafe' message,'" aid YXS spokeswoman Lindsay Cotter. "The plane was not from Prince George but they planned to stop in here for a few nights in Prince George on their way to Alaska."

The incident was attended to by RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, Prince George Fire Rescue Service, Pineview Volunteer Fire Department, and the on-site firefighters of the Prince George Airport Authority, who were coincidentally engaged in live fire training exercises Monday.
