Music festival Lakeland fundraiser at railway museum

There's a music festival and steak dinner fundraiser for Lakeland Mills victims Saturday at the Central B.C. Railway and Forestry Museum. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m.

Bluegrass and rock music will be presented by local musician John Rogers and several bands from Hixon during the Music Festival Lakeland Fundraiser and all proceeds go to the Lakeland Fire Assistance Fund administered by the Prince George Community Foundation.

"This is an event for Lakeland, not only for the Lakeland fund but for the employees of Lakeland," said Ranjit Gill, executive director of the Central B.C. Railway and Forestry Museum. "It's right across the street from us and we want them to come out because they've probably not had a fun time in a long time and we'd like them to come enjoy a steak dinner for $25, some music and dance. And there's not going to be any mosquitoes, I promise!"

The whole event will be under tents in case of rain.

"It's going to be a casual thing, a fun night and it's going to be magical with all the lights strung up," said Gill. "It's going to be a beautiful evening."

There's a shuttle service for those who need a safe ride home.

Tickets are $25 at the Railway and Forestry Museum and Northern Hardware. For more information call 250-563-7351 or e-mail tra...@pgrfm.bc.ca.
