June Gamble, Tracey Edwards and Jody Dakus are hosting a benefit for the employees of Lakeland Mills at the Roll-A-Dome on Saturday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m.

"We've been asked so many times," said Gamble. "But we're not with an organization -- it's just us trying to help those poor people. I was totally devastated by the explosion. I just can't get over it."

Some of the auction items include airline tickets, Carrie Underwood concert tickets including a night at a Vancouver hotel, Canucks tickets with hotel, and a free night's stay at Treasure Cove.

Dinner is turkey, ham and six kinds of salads, buns, coffee and tea. There's a cash bar and those proceeds will also go to the employees of Lakeland.

There are 400 tickets to be sold, some of which already have been bought but purchasers are donating the tickets back to the organizers to be distributed among the Lakeland Mill employees.

"Just the other day we ran into an employee of Lakeland that said he'd love to come but can't afford the ticket price and I was pleased to hand over two tickets immediately so that he can attend," said Gamble. "Now that was a good feeling."

Tickets are at Visions Electronics, Seth Tobin, Extreme Pita, Andres Electronics, Shhhh, Big Al's Food Mart, West 49, and Ann-Louise Jewellers.
