Interest In Alex

Prince George RCMP is seeking 23-year-old Paul Frank Alec Jr. He is not a suspect, according to Mounties, and is not wanted in connection with a crime.

"Officers believe Mr. Alec may have information that could further an ongoing investigation," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass. "Police are requesting that Mr. Alec attend the Prince George Detachment located at 999 Brunswick Street in Prince George."

Alec is a former resident of Burns Lake and is believed to currently be in Prince George. Anyone who is in contact with him is asked to pass the message along. Anyone who knows of his recent activities or whereabouts is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.

Quesnel Drug Ride

A motorist was pulled over by Quesnel RCMP, Friday night, and was discovered to have a package of cocaine and wad of cash inside the car. Two Quesnel residents, 26 and 19, were arrested.

Quesnel police said there was about four ounces of cocaine in the vehicle, plus a large sum of money. Mounties allege this was not intended for their personal use but for sale to local streets.

Both men were later released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. RCMP are proposing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking for both males.

Scratching For Clues

Police were called to the 4300 block of Allen Avenue on Saturday. Several people had their vehicles damaged in an act of aimless vandalism. Several thousand dollars in damage was estimated to have been inflicted, when someone scratched the paint on numerous vehicles parked along the street. The gouge was down to the metal on some of the vehicles.

Williams Lake Collision

A driver suffered serious injuries in a Cariboo crash early Monday morning. It was just past midnight when emergency responders were called eight kilometres west of Williams Lake on Highway 20.

"An eastbound pickup collided head-on with a westbound logging truck," said William Lake RCMP's Cpl. Brian Evans. "The driver of te pickup was trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed with the assistance of the jaws of life."

The truck driver was uninjured.

The pickup driver was taken to Cariboo Memorial Hospital for treatment of what Evans called extensive injuries. Alcohol was, police believe, a factor in this crash.
