Calls have been heard before to build a skatepark in Prince George. It worked last time. Now, as reported first in The Citizen, a group of teens is wishing for one in the Hart Highway area and in the meantime their alternatives are putting them dangerously close to traffic.

The Rotary Skatepark on the northwest side of Carrie Jane Gray Park first came to the fore in 1999 and took about two years to design, fundraise and build.

The adult who led that charge was real estate agent Joni Brown, on behalf of her son Billy and a large group of his peers. They, quite like the group of active kids up on the Hart, wanted a place to roll.
