    Man stabbed on Quebec Street

A man was stabbed in the arm by an unknown assailant as he walked on Quebec Street about 7:30 p.m. Monday night.

The man heard the sound of breaking glass and then was struck in the upper arm with what he believed to be a broken bottle.

The assailant left immediately after striking the victim who then walked to the Royal Canadian Legion and contacted the RCMP. The victim was taken to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. by ambulance where the three-to-four inch cut was treated.

The victim described the assailant as being of unknown nationality, wearing dark-coloured sneakers, pants, T-shirt and jacket.

The reason for the assault has not been determined and at this time the assailant remains unidentified.

The investigation continues and police are asking anyone who may have seen or has knowledge of this assault to call the RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or visit www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca.
