    QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Familiar playoff opponent for Cariboo Cats

The Cariboo Cougars won't need a refresher course on how to beat the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs.

The Cougars and Chiefs, rivals in the B.C. Hockey Major Midget League, will start a best-of-three playoff semifinal series Friday (8:15 p.m.) at Kin 1. As scheduling would have it, the teams met in Prince George on the final weekend of the regular season, Feb. 27-28. After a 2-2 tie in the opener, the Cougars lit up the scoreboard in an 8-5 win the next day.

The Cats are quite happy to be taking on the Chiefs again, this time for a spot in the playoff championship series.

"It's good to play a team that we just saw," said Cougars head coach Trevor Sprague. "It's fresh in our mind on what they bring to the game. We've been able to practice some of the things that we needed to work on to maybe not have an 8-5 game -- play a little bit better defensively."
