Lumber prices slipping

After a spike earlier in the year, lumber prices are dropping.

According to Madison's Canadian Lumber Reporter the benchmark random length spruce-pine-fir two-by-four was pegged at $270 US.

That's down $22 from last month, but still up $117 from a year ago.

Lumber is an important economic commodity in north-central B.C.
