College of New Caledonia is figuratively going to the dogs.
The sixth annual CNC Doggie Fashion Show will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the atrium where dogs of every pedigree, shape and size and their owners will compete in a variety of categories.
“It’s been very successful through the years. We’ve raised $4,000 for the SPCA plus palettes of food, toys and cleaning supplies. It’s an event people look forward to," said said co-ordinator Barbara Old, CNC’s Dean of Community and Continuing Education.
The show, which features competition in Best in Show, Most Original, Best Human & Doggie
Co-ordination, Best Doggie Personality and People’s Choice Award, is open to not only dogs and their owners, but children, adults and seniors. All proceeds go towards the Prince George SPCA.
Judges are Valerie Giles, Kathi Travers, Ann Gough and Debora Munoz and the SPCA's Super Dog will also be there.
Entry fee is $10 per dog and participants are asked to register by Thursday, Nov. 12. A limited number of registrations will be taken on show day between 9 and 10 a.m. A registration form can be downloaded from the College News and Events section of CNC’s web site: www.cnc.bc.ca/tools/events. For information, call Laura, 250-562-2131 ext. 5386 or Kathy at 562-2131 ext. 5298.

I guess having animals doing unnatural things is okay as long as the SPCA benefits from it?

What day??

Try clicking on the web site--Sat 14th Nov.
You know, racer, there are dogs that dearly love to show off and receive a little praise, and I am sure un natural acts will not be part of the show.
I am a strong supporter of the S P C A, and would much rather donate to the animals than I ever would many of the people I envision in my mind on this site. Funny how one draws a mental picture of a poster simply through their remarks.
Goodness comes from the heart, but many times kindness must come from the pocketbook. If you cannot be kind and good to animals, you are not capable of being kind and good to people. Think about it--lot of truth there.
Hope to see you at the show-and do give a donation everyone-even if you don't attend.

I know when the show is, my granddaughter is showing my dog. I was pointing out an omission in the story, gently. Some people don't have access to clicking on a web site. Guess we'll see you there.

Thanks for pointing out the omission. I did change it in the second line but I guess the change was so subtle no one noticed it. So the date of the show is Saturday Nov. 14.
